Raegan Belle

I got to take pictures of a brand new baby last week.. only a week old!! She was so sweet, and didn't pee a single time!! Thats a new record. It took a bit to get her settled in and happy, but then she let us do our thing. You'll notice she has her binky in a few of the pictures. She didn't wanna let it go, so, we gave in. A happy baby makes for much better pictures.

A BIG shout out to Shonni, I couldn't have done it without her. She was my official "back-drop" holder. I'm sure she was cursing me the entire time, in her head of course. :)

Twitterpated...

We ventured out to Saltair last week to take senior pictures for my niece, Taelor, and her boyfriend, Trevor. After my lecture on the way about wearing your seatbelts, there was actually an accident on I-80 (about 100 yards away from where we were). We heard the screeching of brakes, and the loud boom from when the car hit the ditch. Turns out, the kid was texting. He's lucky he didn't hit someone else.

Anyway, back to the real reason I'm posting this.. PICTURES!!

I still haven't gone through all of them, but here are a few of my favorites so far.

And here's one more.. just because.

Colby and Kaci sittin' in a tree...

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to take pictures at an ADORABLE wedding. It was country themed.. right down to the bride wearing pink cowgirl boots. I loved it.

I have a new respect for wedding photographers. You have ONE chance to get "THE shot". If you miss it, there are no second chances. It was scary and exhilarating. Did I mention that it was scary? Luckily, I wasn't the only photographer there. Now, I don't wanna brag or anything... scratch that, Tawnya is my name, and bragging is my game. Okay, seriously though, I got a few good ones. But I'll let you be the judge.

The York Family

My little sister and her husband were part of a Country Wedding a this month. It was ADORABLE. (Post coming soon, I helped with pictures.) She wanted to get family pictures done in their "country gettup" and I gladly obliged.

The day we happened to choose was windy. Wait, thats an understatement. It was REALLY windy. We decided to take a shot at it anyway and ended up getting a few great pictures. I'm now going to share them with you. After all, wouldn't it be selfish to keep them to myself?

Taelor

My niece is starting Cosmetology school in a couple of weeks. She needed a headshot and I gladly jumped on the opportunity to take them. Its weird to think that I was nine when she was born, now look at her!!

Ain't she perdy??

Orange Jumpsuits and MICHAEL JACKSON??!!

I came across this first video this morning..

I was glued.. this is crazy!! I've never heard of such a thing!! Then I started browsing You Tube and realized that are tons of different videos with dancing prisoners!! I'm obsessed now. I've been watching one after the other.

Now.. why haven't our prisons caught on to this yet??

Even if you don't have time to watch them all, watch the first minute of each. I swear it'll make your day!!

Veggies, herbs and poop.

I was finally able to plant my "garden" last weekend. I guess thats just part of living in Utah, it snows well into May. In fact, we pretty much just get screwed when it comes to spring weather... oh, AND on our power/gas bills. Can we please just have one full month where I don't have to run my heater or my AC?? Thats all I ask!! What? The garden? Was that what I was talking about?

So.. the garden. When my cousin Jared (in all his awesomeness) built us a deck last year (you can read about that HERE) he was also nice enough to build a garden box. Nothing huge, we only had one little empty corner in our small backyard to spare. I have been crazy excited to have my own little garden, mainly for the herbs. I love fresh herbs!! It costs an arm and a leg to buy them fresh at the grocery store, so this is a perfect solution. I also planted one tomato bush/tree.. uh, which is it anyway, a bell pepper and banana peppers.

I took pictures of the "building" of the garden, for your viewing pleasure.

Here is the empty box.. nothing too fancy.

I dumped three bags of top soil into the bottom of it. (I used poor quality dirt as a filler.)

Then I dumped in a big ol' bag of THE GOOD STUFF. (By this, I mean, the stuff that says "perfect for growing vegetables in your garden".) I smushed it into the corners with my toes.

Then came the exciting part. One big bag of stinky, smelly, I couldn't believe I was doing this, cow manuer. Supposedly its good for growing stuff. (BTW you cannot use human poop in your garden if you're planting food.. BUT its great for your flower beds. I just say thats gross, but then again, is cow poop any better?)

I had to mush that in with my toes too, didn't want it feeling left out.

Let the planting begin!!

I did the tomato plant in the back corner, leaving plenty of room for growth. Then I did the herbs and peppers around the front edge of the box.

(Ignore the fact that the tomato cage is resting too far above the actual plant, I still need to clip the bottoms to make it shorter.)

Now I just need to find cute little signs for the herbs and such, maybe I'll make some.

I also did a couple of pots while I was dirty, flowers make everything prettier!! Don't you agree?

Since I have planted this here garden, I have noticed that this particular corner of my backyard doesn't receive a whole lot of sun throughout the day. So hopefully they'll grow!! I'll keep you updated.

We've already used the basil in some spaghetti sauce, and chives in butter for some delicious Whole Wheat Rhodes Rolls I bought. I can't wait to use more of the herbs!!
